The second guideline for safe carpooling is that users possess the tools to assess other users..
Assessing based on profile information
Profile information gives you a good image of who the other person is. The more information, the better your image of that other person is. You can’t drive together if you or another user has not filled in his or her birth date or gender.
Would you like to drive with someone who created a profile yesterday and does not have a profile picture? Rather not of course, but this does not make the other person unreliable. In this case it is wise to first contact the other through our chat.
Assessment through chat
In Toogethr you can send each other messages for free (chat). Your message will be received by the other person through a push notification (in case the app for iPhone/iPad or Android is used) and via email. You can easily ask the other person about the ride. When you don’t get a (friendly) response, you’ll know enough. The chat streams via Toogethr, so your email address or mobile phone number isn’t visible to the other. Do use common sense with what to share through a chat message.
Assessment through the use of reviews
Some users also have reviews. These are the opinions of other users. Not just about reliability, they might also cover someone’s driving skills. Over time the users with the best and the most reviews will also get to share the most rides.
